Office of Youth Evangelisation

The Office for Youth Evangelisation is the agency for youth and young adults within the Archdiocese of Hobart. Our aim is to invite and involve youth and young adults into a personal relationship with God, to encourage them to live out their baptismal call and participate in the life and mission of their Church Community.

The Office for Youth Evangelisation encourages youth and young adults to be involved in various projects and events where they can build relationships with each other and God; their spiritual life can be fed and nourished; and their journey of growing up Catholic can be supported and encouraged.

The ultimate goal of the Office of Youth Evangelisation is to help create intentional disciples of Christ.

Connect with us to be updated on opportunities to engage with other young Catholics and learn about, or go deeper into, the Catholic faith.

Meet the Youth Evangelisation team

Director – Darcy Rogers

Born in Brisbane Queensland, Darcy has been both a delegate and a leader within Catholic Youth Ministry Australia wide.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in theology, he has served for two years as a full-time missionary with NET Ministries Australia & New Zealand, worked as a parish youth coordinator for 18 months and 3 years as a Campus Minister.

His latest work has involved working for NET in a staff capacity, ensuring the pastoral and professional needs of a team located on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Other roles included Music Director in which Darcy has served at conferences, and in parishes with music workshops.

Through his role, he hopes to allow young people to encounter a personal faith and to raise up leaders out of our senior school and young adult communities.

Pastoral Support Officer – Heather Excell

A Hobart local with a deep knowledge of the Archdiocese, Heather works in the Pastoral team supporting Darcy in the Office of Youth Evangelisation.

With a background in Applied Design (specialising in Graphic Design), she is also passionate about the faith and loves to both deepen and share it with others.

That passion, coupled with her technical background has her seeing her role in the Archdiocese as a perfect combination of two of the things she loves.

She loves seeing others come alive in their faith and hopes to use her skills to contribute to the Church as best she can.

She enjoys Italian food, craft projects, watersports, hiking, bushwalking, enjoying all that nature has to offer.
