Little Company of Mary (LCM)

The Little Company of Mary is a Religious Institute of Women founded in 1877 in Nottingham, England, by Venerable Mary Potter. The Sisters of the Little Company of Mary came to Australia in 1885.

In 1923, Archbishop Delaney took the first steps to invite the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary to Hobart.  The sisters eventually established their apostolate in Hobart in 1938 with founder Mary Potter’s vision of an international order to assist the sick and dying, the Little Company of Mary has been responsible for building and ministering in hospitals throughout the world. The Sisters of the Little Company of Mary operate four acute care hospitals in Tasmania.

The Sisters of the Little Company of Mary are represented in Tasmania by Sr Juliana Coulson LCM and Sr. Pauline Ransom LCM.
