M4EO Summer School 2023

Him & Her: Vive La Difference

The Made for Each Other Summer School returns for the fifth year, continuing to provide young adults with the opportunity to explore the Catholic Church’s unique vision on love, the human person, femininity, masculinity, relationships, sexuality, and marriage. The Summer School is aimed primarily at those 18 + who may be discerning marriage and forming relationships.

We are attracted by the idea of marriage and loving one person for the rest of our lives, but people are also anxious about how to make a marriage work, how to know if someone is the right person to marry, and what we can do to prepare for marriage. No-one denies that marriage is often hard, learning to truly love someone else always involves suffering, but most people hope that they might be able to find a spouse to share life with, and experience all the joy and blessings of that journey together too.

This year’s theme ‘Him & Her: Vive La Difference’ celebrates the undeniable differences and complementarity of the sexes. This can sometimes be obscured in the desire to stress the equal dignity of the sexes and is very important when it comes to learning authentic love in marriage. Our culture currently is often quite confused by the meaning of what it is to be human, never mind what it is to be man or woman. It is important to have some formation around this to stimulate discussion and deeper thinking about these important issues.

The program for 2023 includes a number of engaging speakers, time for prayer and reflection, and the opportunity to interact socially and enjoy the time together. The weekend aims to set some good foundations for future relationships to flourish, provide the chance to hear some excellent speakers, and enjoy the time together socially.

Speakers for this year’s Summer School include:
