Joyful celebration for Fr Jonas Donasco MLCC

Launceston Catholic Parish assistant priest Fr Jonas Donasco MLCC celebrated the fifth anniversary of his ordination on 2 August.

Parishioners joined Fr Jonas for a well-attended morning tea in the parish Pastoral Centre after the Sunday morning Mass at the Church of the Apostles.

Fr Jonas, a priest of Mary’s Little Children Community, founded in the Philippines in 1998, has served in the Launceston Parish since July last year.

Vicar General and Launceston Parish Priest Fr Shammi Perera congratulated Fr Jonas on the ‘joyful celebration’.

“We thank God for your faithful service, compassionate heart and generous ministry,” Fr Shammi said.

“May Christ, the Good Shepherd, continue to strengthen and guide you as you nourish His people with His word and the Eucharist.”

Assistant priest Fr Vinco Muriyadan presented Fr Jonas with a gift on behalf of the parish at the end of the Mass.
