Joyous celebration of faith for Burnie-Wynyard

The largest number of candidates in some years received the sacrament of confirmation in the Burnie-Wynyard Parish on 24 October.

Parish administrator Fr Jessie Banez thanked Archbishop Tony Ireland for confirming the 30 candidates at St Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Burnie.

“It is a blessing that we have people responding to the faith … and that parents are eager to pass on that faith to their children,” Fr Jessie said.

“That is a good sign: that the new generation will carry on the faith, the beliefs, the traditions in our church.

“It was a joyous celebration. The candidates and the parents were very happy.”
