New principal appointments in Tasmania’s Catholic schools - Carol Seagar, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Devonport

Christ’s grace and love is truly evident on a daily basis at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Devonport, according to principal Carol Seagar.

“The students and the staff are really living out their faith,” Mrs Seagar said.

“We have Whole School Prayer on a Monday morning, which is just beautiful and all classes attend. It centres us and sets us up for the week.”

Mrs Seagar has worked for Catholic education in Tasmania for 20 years. She was previously at St Thomas More’s, Newstead, for 10 years, with six years as principal and four as a classroom teacher and assistant principal. Mrs Seagar was an assistant principal and classroom teacher at Larmenier Catholic School at St Leonards and a classroom teacher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School at Deloraine.
Our Lady of Lourdes has 460 students.

Her husband, Keith, works for the Department of Human Services and they have five adult children. In her spare time, Mrs Seagar is an avid reader and enjoys gardening, swimming and running.
