Family catechesis is the process by which the faith of children and young people is nurtured within the context of family life. It is primarily concerned with the recognising the presence of God in the everyday events shared in family life.

Family ministry assists families to:

• Grow in faith by providing opportunities for a family to understand and live the message of the Gospel
• Pray and worship
• Be motivated to serve and nurture others

Parents today seek support, encouragement and resources for the formation in faith of their children. The Office of Church Life & Mission is able to offer workshops to assist families devise ways of nurturing faith within family life.

These workshops include

• Affirming families in what they are already doing
• Encouraging parents to take on the challenge
• Supporting families in seeking a deeper life of faith.
